"I like Norway," says Tom, as we wander around the tiny village of Flaam (pop 450). Flaam is nestled deep in the world's largest and deepest fjord. Flaam (actually spelled F L A-with-a-little-dot-on-top M) is a Norse word that means "small meadow surrounded by steep mountains". Yep.
The village is dwarfed by the cruise ship, and the cruise ship is dwarfed by the surrounding mountains.
